And then there’s the lavender . . .
In the fall of 2003, David and I (with the help of dear friends!) planted an acre of lavender. Whew . . . what a journey it has been. Too much rain. Too many weeds. Not enough sun early on—hard to believe in Texas, but true!

At long last, the fragrance in the field is wonderful as southern breezes cross the Pedernales River and drift upward across our gently sloping rows. Our first field of blue is a memory of a lifetime. See for yourself. Just click here to see photos of our field in bloom.
