FREDERICKSBURG LAVENDER TRAIL: Farm to Table

Four Fredericksburg area lavender farms are working together this year to promote the spring-summer lavender season with a special theme, “Farm to Table”, a farm and food celebration destined to become an annual tradition. Several local restaurants developed at least one lavender-flavored selection for their menus, food items that would be carried throughout the mid-May through June "lavender season" for our trail.
Kicking off the season will be the Becker Vineyards Lavender Festival, May 17-18,
followed by each of the farms and/or their associated retail lavender shops offering
their own series of special events and activities through the end of June.
BECKER VINEYARDS….10 miles east of Fredericksburg, Becker Vineyards is a nationally recognized winery with numerous award-winning wines. HUMMINGBIRD FARMS is located between Fredericksburg and Johnson City. A working farm and Texas’ largest lavender farm. Open most weekends during peak season. Visitors are welcome to watch the summer lavender harvest and essential oil distillation process, or simply stroll the fields to gather your own fragrant bouquet. Enjoy lavender fields “Hill Country style” alongside hayfields and longhorns. Call to arrange special viewings. LLL FARMS & TRADING POST, established in 2002 and now has over 6000 mature lavender plants. Most of the varieties are Mediterranean, but there are some English varieties also. We will only be open for one weekend during this year's growing season for "cut your own" lavender. That weekend will be June 14 and 15 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. We will have some lavender products for sale including soap and dried lavender bundles. Villa Texas LAVENDER MARKET retail store at 339 East Main (NEW location) in Fredericksburg, is a specialty boutique featuring all-things-lavender plus Baggallini travel gear & Dash & Albert rugs. Open daily on the east end of Main Street (in association with Sweet Pea, across from the Nimitz Museum).
